Holiday in Croatia

I'm just back from 2 weeks full of happenings in Croatia. I tried to reduce the number of pictures but it was difficult as we have seen so many beautiful places. We spent the first few days with Jano's family in Pula, on Istria.

The main attraction of Pula is the Amphitheatrum which is one of the biggest in terms of space in Europe.

The rest of the city is full of monuments of the Roman ages as well. Pula has a very pleasant city center with lots of souvenir shops and cafes, just like all other Istrian cities.

We found a restaurant right at the beach, with very tasty food and the friendliest service I have ever experienced. Also perfect location...


We did a one day excursion to Rovinj, a tiny village on Istria. It is definitely worth a visit! Just look at the pics: the old town, typical narrow streets and beautiful view on the sea.






After one week in Pula, we travelled towards Zadar, in North Dalmacia, where we spent another week at Tom's place. We drove all the way down on the road right on the coast. It took almost an entire day but we could stop at places like these.









Tom and his family have a nice and huge house some 50 m from their own beach, with such a beautiful view from the balcony.
The week we spent there was full of interesting activities. We went water skiing but we couldn't much further than this :)
We also went fishing with the net.



The city of Zadar is also very beautiful, again nice views and lots of monuments.

As I have heard so many good things about Krka national park and waterfalls, we visited it for a day. Tom and Sara on the boat:

Krka Waterfall: it is really nice but unfortunately it became so touristic that it is almost impossible to enjoy.
